On Violence Against Gays/ Sobre Violencia contra Gays
Homophobic attacks are not mythological. They are real and they they happen every day in big cities and in small ones all over the world. In Brazil, however, they are alarmingly common. According to one official in Rio, Cláudio Nascimento, over the last decade, 3 thousand homosexuals have been murdered and 64% of them have been victims of violence and that includes gay men and women, bisexuals, transvestites and transsexuals. Many countries around the world have their hands dirty with the blood of people who have been killed simply because they are not the conventional mold. What is conventional? Does anybody know?
