On Violence Against Blacks

We’ve been reminded yet again that blacks in Brazil have their work cut out for them and that they still have a tough row to hoe when it comes to human rights.

A black man as president of the most powerful country in the world is no guarantee that those born with an excess of melanin will all of a sudden be walking streets paved with gold. No, Siree, they won’t.

Not because they don’t want to. Because some people don’t want them to. Especially some youngsters with nothing better to do and who call themselves skinheads (neo-nazis?) have taken to attacking “people of color” for no apparent reason other than their being black.

Neo-nazis you say? Skin-heads? In Brazil? At least they think they are. Not on hitlerian terms, though. Or is it? We now know that genetics has completely debunked Hitler’s claims of racial purity by saying that we are all the same underneath.

Something does not add up here. If you wanted to be a skinhead or whatever, should you not be born of racial stock originating in northern Europe? You be the judge.

  1. and despicable, Eduardo. These people are being by what? The wider anglo-saxon culture they see in films and music that they barely understand? Or are they trying to draw attention to themselves?
