On When Tiny Nations... Which Part?

So it has just emerged that they have said 'Yes!' to Egalité  in France, now the 14th country to include same-sex marriage in the books. They are following Uruguay, in Latin America, and New Zealand, down under. All in a span of two weeks!

Couples will now be able to adopt and to marry under the French flag, come rain or high fire.

Maybe come blows and high fire. For it is unconscionable that in the country of the Enlightenment, LGBT folks have to endure violence and verbal attacks, ever on the increase, since news of the new law emerged. Why the anger?

It is said that the "Marriage for All" bill will now be sent to their President, François Hollande, to be signed into law and soon made official.

Here's hoping equality marriage opponents, with their virulent attacks, find the proverbial wrench /spanner too heavy to throw it in the works and that equality becomes a fact of life for ALL in France.

We are going to be demanding a slice of the whole pie we have been talking about... And champagne!

Congratulations, France!

Where else in the world can you find Egalité?
